We’re Taking the Lead with Sustainable Print to Help Businesses Comply with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting.
Just one year before AVJ PrintStudio launched in 2005, the UN made its first public announcement of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) in a report named Who Cares Wins. Over the past 20 years, the pressure on businesses to include ESG reporting has increased to promote ethical business practices and responsible investing.
In response to the underserved yet growing demand for sustainable print solutions aligned with national ESG regulations, we at AVJ launched the Thinking Green initiative for our customers.
From 2024, an estimated 50,000 companies must engage in mandatory sustainability reporting, meaning public sector entities such as healthcare, education, and security should be looking at partnering with a print agency who prioritises sustainability. For businesses looking to make the inevitable move to sustainable print, our eco-friendly approach at AVJ allows companies to meet ESG sustainability demands while providing white-label print that reinforces brand identity and credibility.
Our team implemented sustainability in 2019, which inspired us to launch our Thinking Green initiative, reflecting our commitment to the planet. We meticulously source only the highest quality eco-friendly materials, including FSC-certified or recycled paper, PVC free large-format media, rigid board and signage.
Introducing these sustainable practices in-house at AVJ, has helped us understand the lasting impact it could have on our business and other large companies in the UK who need support with printed products while minimising their carbon footprint. Recycling one ton of paper saves 380 gallons of oil, 7000 gallons of water, and around three cubic meters of landfill space, which is something we shouldn’t ignore.
Using FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper, businesses in the public sector, like education and healthcare, can meet the reporting requirements for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)
Environmental: Forests adhere to strict environmental standards, promoting sustainable forestry, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem protection. This aligns with the “E” of ESG reporting.
Social: The choice of FSC-certified stock has positive social impacts on workers’ rights, indigenous peoples’ rights, and community engagement, contributing to the “S” aspect of ESG reporting.
Governance: Investors, customers, and employees are more likely to view a company positively if it demonstrates a commitment to responsible sourcing and environmental stewardship – therefore, ticking the box for the “G” of ESG reporting.
Our team at AVJ is proud to support businesses with quick, quality, and sustainable print and is excited to be part of this new journey toward a greener future. We would love to discuss your next project – come and be part of the AVJ green crusade.
